Rejoicing with Music

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.
    Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come into his presence with singing.

Worship Choir
The Worship Choir provides anthems and special music for the Traditional Worship Service. The Choir also sings on Christmas Eve, Good Friday, and is featured in the annual Holiday Concert. The Choir rehearses on Wednesdays from September thru May, at 7:00 PM. The Choir does not have weekly rehearsals during the summer months, but continues to sing two Sundays each month.

Praise Band
The Celebration & Praise Band provides music and leads singing for the Contemporary Worship Service.

Bell Choir
The Handbell Choir, established in the Fall of 2004, rings once a month at the Traditional Worship Service and occasionally at the Contemporary Service. The Choir rehearses on Wednesdays at 6:00 PM from September thru May, except during Lent.

Drama Ministry
Director of Music and Creative Ministries David Horstman leads a team of volunteers that perform 3 to 5 minute dramas twice a month at the Contemporary Worship Service. There are no formal rehearsals. Everything is done on each volunteer performer's own time. All are welcome to participate in this ministry.

Youth Choir
The Youth Choir is currently on Hiatus. In the past, this group has performed several major productions at the Church including GODSPELL, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, and several original musicals written by the youth themselves.

Annual Christmas Concert
This annual concert is an evening with the Director of Music and Creative Ministries celebrating the holiday season with the congregation and local community. The program varies each year, but normally includes a combination of vocal soloists, instrumental soloists, and the Worship Choir.

The concert is preceded by a holiday dinner that requires the purchase of a ticket in advance, but admission to the concert itself is FREE.

Summer Concert Series
Beginning in 2011, St. Peter's brought music to its Fellowship Hall one night a month during the summer. These FREE events feature local bands and vocalists in an evening of musical entertainment. For the summer of 2012, this series will feature Mitzi MacDonald & Keltic Reign, The Rivertown Sound Quartet with Steve Davis as Elvis, and an encore evening with Scott Crawford and Friends.

North County Ensemble Players
This new theatre company is dedicated to producing works by African-American playwrights and utilizing the talents of African-American actors and actresses. Their first production, FOR COLORED GIRLS, was produced and performed in October 2011 to an audience of nearly 300. North County Ensemble Players is led by our Director of Music and Creative Ministries, David Horstman, and congregation member, Donna Nelson, both of which are theater professionals in the St. Louis area. Their next production, the title of which is yet to be disclosed, will take place in October 2012. For more information, call David at (314) 521-5694.

Sheltered Reality
Sheltered Reality is a national organization of mission-minded youth who use choreography and drumming to share a message of faith and inspiration to young people, encouraging them to make a difference in the world. Performing at schools, churches, and community events, the local group is housed, facilitated, and funded by St. Peter's.
