Welcome to the St. Peter's United Church of Christ web site. We are thankful for the opportunity to introduce ourselves to you. We pray that as you browse these pages, you will feel a warm welcome and the inspiration to come and worship with us in person as we seek to follow God's call in our lives.
St. Peter's is part of the Christian Community of faith that seeks to respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, giving honor to God and dignity to all human beings. Our heritage is deeply rooted in the United Church of Christ.
Recognizing that Christian worship is expressed in a variety of ways, we offer worship experiences in both the traditional and a more informal style. As its name implies, worship at the traditional service follows a liturgical order of worship that has evolved in Protestant churches over the centuries. Hymns are sung to the accompaniment of an organ or piano and with a choir. The informal service is held in the Fellowship Hall. Music is accompanied by a piano and string instrument and worshipers sing more modern music. The sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated on the first and third Sundays of each month, as well as other special Holy Days. We practice Open Communion at St. Peter's, inviting all baptized believers to share in Christ's presence at the table.
We hope the sharing of these pages will give you an understanding of who we are, what we believe, and how we are seeking to be faithful disciples in our Christian ministry.
We welcome the opportunity to say hello in person and invite you to worship, to join us in fellowship, and to be a part of the ministries of St. Peter's United Church of Christ. We hold Sunday worship services at 9:00 AM (traditional) and 11:15 AM (contemporary-style). Christian education classes are offered to persons of all ages on Sunday at 10:15 AM.
